State of the Art
Synopsis
The publication Report on the State of the Art was prepared within the APOLLO project (territoriAl corPOrate weLfare through digitaLization and cOoperation), co-funded by the Interreg Alpine Space Programme. The report examines current approaches, challenges, and innovative practices related to territorial corporate welfare, digitalization, and social innovation in Alpine regions. Special attention is given to the impact of demographic change, depopulation, digital divides, and changing labour market conditions on the accessibility and quality of welfare services.
The publication combines theoretical analysis with practical examples from Italy, Slovenia, Austria, and Germany. It includes a mapping and evaluation of existing good practices at the European, Alpine, national, and regional levels, highlighting initiatives related to smart villages, digital public services, remote work, work-life balance, stakeholder cooperation, and sustainable territorial development.
In addition, the report presents the results of surveys, focus groups, and needs analyses involving workers, SMEs, public authorities, and other stakeholders. Based on these findings, the publication provides a methodological framework for pilot actions and future policy recommendations aimed at strengthening cooperation, improving access to services, and supporting sustainable and inclusive development in Alpine communities.
